This is an introduction for the first in a series of articles about business fitness – what that means – and how you can achieve it.

So – I’ve always loved running and hillwalking – but my enjoyment is hugely dependent on how fit I am.

Trying climbing a Munro in Scotland or enter a Marathon – and you’ll know very quickly if you are fit for the task at hand.

The fitter you are – the easier it is to complete the task – and the better the results you get.

How Fit Are You Personally?

This should be an easy question to answer if you’re really honest.

On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is really terrible and 10 is – you could probably run a couple of marathons – how fit are you?

Your past history combined with your real world knowledge of what being fit is – means that you can access your own fitness and decide on a score between 1 and 10 without much difficulty.

So – what’s your Fitness Number?

How Fit is Your Business?

This is more difficult to answer as your real world knowledge of what a fit business looks like is not so easy to assess.

What you need to ask is ……

What is The Purpose of My Business?

Is My Business Fit for That Purpose?

If you want to run a marathon then your purpose is clear – run 26 miles.

So what’s the purpose of your business and is it fit enough to achieve that purpose?

What’s your business fitness score between 1 and 10?

There is a definite synergy that exists between business fitness and personal fitness. After all – your business is a reflection of who you are, what you aspire to, and how you do things.

Your business has your DNA – so what you think, believe and do has a huge impact on the fitness of your business and the results it achieves.
